Ok, so Warren's 15 years with Duranduran didn't produce as many hits as the first 5 years of the band's existence, but fans truely felt the legacy of DURAN DURAN deserved more musical noteriety from which only the original hitmaking line-up could deliver. The early '80's band of brothers, THE FAB FIVE, is that hitmaking line-up. Music critics had already bid Duranduran farewell by the time Warren and "the WEDDING ALBUM" did the impossible in late 1992: Brought a new wave/new romantic band back from the dead in the era of grunge, PEARL JAM and NIRVANA. Although 'POP TRASH' and 'MEDAZZALAND' weren't chart-toppers, the possibility for success are clearly evident and, unfortunately, overlooked by the masses. Thanks to Warren, the music of Duranduran continued throughout the'90's and now has a chance to speak to us in a new millenium. Nobody can deny the current reunion of the early 1980's incarnation of Duranduran is in part thanks to Warren Cuccurullo, the Brooklyn New York native. As testiment to Warren's contributions to the band, Warren was included in MTV's LIFETIME ACHEIVEMENT AWARD, presented to DURAN DURAN in 2003, after Roger, Andy and John returned. Legions of Duran's screaming "girlie-to-granny" fans are without a doubt excited and misty eyed with the return of the three Taylors, and DURAN DURAN's return to the top has been eagerly anticipated now for about 5 years. With the release of 'ASTRONAUT', DURAN DURAN are looking for the musical climate to be blue skies and smooth sailing to the top.
