Sterling started touring with DURAN DURAN as their drummer in 1987 and officially became a member in 1989. After the release of 'Liberty' in 1990, Sterling left DURAN DURAN. He then joined 90's grunge rock band SOUL ASYLUM for one record. Sterling has continued to play with DAVID BOWIE throughout the past decade and has also been a touring drummer for CYNDI LAUPER and a studio drummer for THE B-52's.
